FUNTIMES TD GUIDELINES
Age - You must be 18 or older to be a TD/HTD.
Hosting - All TDs are expected to host tourneys. Only Admin are allowed to change a TD's status when it is warranted. TDs are to host as often as they can. We understand that family and health come first and at times other obligations may arise. In the event that his happens, please let an Admin know the situation and we will work with you. TDs should be in the Safe Harbor Lobby 30 minutes before their tourney is set to start. If something comes up and you cannot run your tourney, please let another TD know so that spot can be filled.
Pre-Made Tourneys - We ask that TDs pre-make tourneys a day or two ahead of time when possible to keep our calendar as full as we can. Pre-made tourneys are helpful when there is a void to fill.
Scheduling Tourneys - Please pay attention to the weekly and monthly special times when making tourneys. Make sure to include the name of the euchre game when making your tourney. All entry fees should be 500+, and 1,000 if there is a TD donation which are encouraged.
Evening Tourneys - The 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. tourneys are 2 vs 2. This will keep the hourly tourneys on course for the rest of the evening. Please watch to ensure that all tournies are not random. The 2 vs 2 tourney PYOP is the only time members get to play with their favorite partner. The TD should announce 5 minutes before the start of a 2 vs 2 tourney that NO new teams are allowed and will be removed. Only AUTOS allowed after the 5 minute mark.
Saturdays the 8:00 p.m. tourney should be either a fast 1 vs 1 or a 2 vs 2 so it is completed before 9:00 p.m. At least one evening tourney should be REG STD.
Specials - All our "Specials" TOC, Member Appreciation, etc should be REG STD. BOL Qualifier, NO STD. Specials, like birthdays or Top Dawg, etc. can be the member's choice.
Swiss Tourneys – These tourneys can be run in the 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. slot.
Closing On Time - Hour tourneys should start on the hour or no later than 5 minutes after. Quickies are to start on the half hour and no later. Members cannot play in more than one tourney at a time so please check before you close if another tourney is still going on.
Game Rules - It's important that you read over the rules before hosting your tourney. TDs are to ensure that the game rules and table settings are on their Tourney Rules or Main page and posted in the lobby just prior to pairings and rules at the tables. Spam the game rules at the tables. We only run those games listed in our games list. If you have a game you would like to add, please send in a request and we will add it.
Spamming - TDs should spam their tourneys with a link to the tourney page. Spams should be sent 20 minutes and 10 minutes prior to the tourney using SHG messengers. (This change is being made because we want the quickies started before the spam for the next tourney)
Boo Rule - If a boo occurs, the TD should be notified. The person to the left of the person making the boo has the option of 1 or 2 skips or play on. (where applicable. i.e. in a black only game and someone calls red, you cannot use play on) There are fixable boos, though the boo will still count.
In 1x1 tourneys, one boo is allowed per player per round. The 2nd boo is a DQ. Boos do not carry over to next round.
In 2x2 tourneys, one boo is allowed per team per round. The 2nd boo is a DQ. Boos do not carry over to next round.
In 3x3 tourneys, one boo is allowed per team per round. The 2nd boo is a DQ. Boos do not carryover to next round.
No boos are allowed for those playing in finals (excluding subs).
Timers - There is a 3 minute timer from the time the pairings are up. Once a member has used their time up, they are disqualified. (The exception to this rule at the moment, is for Grandma who gets an extra minute. Please ensure that you make it clear in the lobby that they are needed at table #. If you flag a member to sit, only do it once and make sure you put in your flag the table #.
Posting Pairings - TDs will post pairings in the lobby along with a table number and table time. (Table 40 - Harleymike vs. Sweett w/ subs - TT05) The first person in the pairings is responsible for making the tables. If the first person doesn't make, their partner may make the table. Please do not use the same table twice in a tourney.
Slow Play - Slow play is not cool. If you see continued slow play, you will need to warn the slow player and time him/her. If slow play continues, the player can be disqualified.
Going Alone - Unless the game rules state otherwise, loners are not allowed on 8 or 9. This would count as a boo not a dq.
Multiple Tables - Members cannot play at more than one table. Staff may play and sub if needed.
Table Talk - Table talk is not permitted. The hosting TD should give a warning and DQ if necessary. Reporting - The hosting TD will report all wins and losses.
Language - We are to respect the feelings of others. No F bombs are allowed! Abusive members will be warned and/or boxed and banned if needed.
Screen Shots - If an issue arises, please take screen shots. Forward the screen shots to Escape so the issue can be dealt with.
Hosting TD - The hosting TD is responsible for his/her own tourney. Please do not interfere with another TDs tourney unless you are asked to help. (If you notice a problem IM the TD. If you are not satisfied with their response do not enter into an argument, Bring the matter privately to an Admin or the HA), Conversations should take place in messenger and NEVER at the tables or in lobby.
